Eczema is a chronic, genetic skin condition resulting in flares of red, scaling, itching skin anywhere on the body. This condition is often associated with allergies and sensitivity to environmental allergen. Mainstays of therapy include proper bathing instructions, moisturizers, and topical steroids. Despite most treatments, flares will naturally occur and must be managed appropriately by the dermatologist and patient.
