Restylane® is a name used to identify a broad range of injectable skin fillers with the hyaluronic acid formulation of the non-animal source. Restylane® is one of the most common sources of injectable filler using the non-animal acid filler. Since its development, it has been used by more than 11 million people in the world. What is Restylane®?
Lip enhancement is the most common use of this treatment for contouring and volume enhancement. It is also used to diminish aging lines and wrinkles around the face including the nasolabial contours (mouth to nose lines). Restylane® is also used to fill visible signs of aging around the mouth referred to as elemental folds and the forehead wrinkles. Restylane® is also used to fill the orbital troughs and the age-related folds under the eyes. Other indications may be discussed if appropriate.
Recovery Time and Duration of Restylane®
This duration is determined by the type of skin, age, and lifestyle. After undertaking the initial treatment, it is recommended to undertake the follow-up sessions every month. Lip treatment typically lasts for the first six months after therapy. However, the treatment has a duration of about three days to recover.
Side Effects of Restylane®
While swelling and numbness for a few days are common for Restylane®, this treatment is also accompanied by temporary bruising. During your consultation, a member of our medical team will evaluate your medical history and skin health to ensure that this treatment is safe for you.
While it is a rare occurrence to have many side effects after Restylane, it should never be used in areas where a skin disease has previously occurred. For the breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women, further evaluation may be required before treatment is approved.
Treatment Techniques for Restylane®
Most of the medical practitioners inject this filler with a medical needle to the underlying skin. Before application, they may use numbing creams to decrease pain.
If you want to apply these fillers before a special event in your life, we may recommend undergoing treatment within the preceding three weeks. This will give your skin enough time to exhibit visible results.
