How To Determine If You’re A Good Candidate For Juvederm

Juvederm

Have you begun to notice wrinkles, loss of facial volume, or smile fine lines in your skin over the years? Are you unhappy with your appearance because of the effects aging has had on your body? JUVEDERM treatments are perfect to help reduce signs of aging and may be an adequate solution. The experts at Coastal Dermatology and Plastic Surgery can help you determine if this treatment is for you.

What Is JUVEDERM®?

JUVEDERM® is an injectable dermal filler that can reduce the signs of aging. These signs include:

  • Loss of facial volume
  • Wrinkles
  • Marionette lines
  • Smile lines
  • Thin or aging lips

How Does JUVEDERM® Work?

JUVEDERM® can increase facial volume by attracting water particles to the area that has been injected. This occurs because of its special hyaluronic acid-based formula that attracts water particles to the site.

What Can I Expect Out Of The Results?

JUVEDERM® is a relatively long lasing dermal filler. Each treatment, on average, can last between nine and twelve months. The patient must consult with our team to determine how often they must return for follow-up appointments to maintain their results after that nine to twelve month period. Injections will help reduce skin conditions such as marionette lines, smile lines, and loss of facial volume. However, results can differ case by case depending on the patient’s skin condition and desired results.

What Is The Recovery Process Like?

Injections require no downtime since they are minimally invasive. This means you can go in the morning, receive treatment, and go straight back to work or the rest of your day. So you don’t have to worry about taking time off of work or missing family events for this treatment.

Do I Need A Consultation?

Yes, it is the best way to determine your candidacy for JUVEDERM®. At your consultation, you will discuss your options physical condition and aesthetic goals with a qualified member of our team. They will then use this information to determine if the treatment is what is best for you and will relay your options.

Am I A Good Candidate?

Luckily, most men and women who are both physically and emotionally healthy are good candidates for JUVEDERM®. It is also important that the candidate has realistic expectations for their results. If you currently have any medical conditions or are taking medications or supplements, it is imperative that you share them with your treatment provider, as this can affect your candidacy.

Ultimately, your practitioner will be able to accurately determine your candidacy after considering the above factors and even using a physical examination.
